LucidSound LS1P Premium Chat Headset Review
So far, all game helmets I used and examined were two standard varieties. Thus, the Lucid sound LS1P Premium Headset is a new experience for me — a helmet that has only one headset. It's a design that always seemed a little strange, even clumsy, but after using it, I can certainly see it useful for some players.
For example, let's say you want to play game, but pay attention to what is happening in the room that surrounds you; It's actually a common situation for me. Maybe I have to keep an eye on dinner or listen to the doorbell — no matter. In these scenarios, having the right ear discovered, free to hear what is happening outside the game, makes the conception of Lucid sound LS1P a little more than the traditional helmets that could cut you from the outside world a little too much. Personally, I found it useful to use during the evenings at home, giving me the opportunity to play on my laptop and not to be totally unconscious of my wife if she tells me something.
I guess it's not, of course, the official goal of the Lucid sound LS1P simple headset design. The cat part in the name implies that it is a helmet to discuss with its online teammates during intense gaming sessions in cooperation. The players in this situation will probably want to listen to the sound of the game via their TV and do not need a helmet to provide a first class play sound. They just want to stay synchronized by discussing with their team. Once again, Lucid sound LS1P will fit perfectly. And the Premium part is the fact that this device offers at least some high-end features of full game helmets, such as a nice elegant design and sound quality.
If you are looking for a decent sound, by the way, this little helmet can surprisingly fit. It has 50 mm audio drivers, just like other LucidSound helmets. However, unlike a unit like the LS10P, which I just reviewed, the LS1P has openings in the atrium that allow the sound to escape into the surrounding space. So in other words, it's not an anti-obscure experience that will isolate you from your environment; It is specially designed so that you can hear both the virtual gaming environment and the real environment you sit. Nor does it have the deep bass and the full range of a real noise reduction game unit — and obviously not stereo. As long as you are looking for a sound that does the trick but gives priority to the noise of the vocal chat on the atmosphere of the game, then you will be very satisfied with Lucid sound LS1P.
A major advantage, regardless of the type of player you are, is the incredibly lightweight weight of this unit. I guess it's a very big advantage brought by the withdrawal of one of the two ear tastes. The weight is a crucial thing with helmets; Any unit will feel very well at first, but the weight of the helmet multiplied by the time played inevitably increase the discomfort. Thus, all units will eventually become uncomfortable on your head — it's just a matter of time. Lucid sound LS1P has a big advantage in this respect, with a minimal and not imposing profile that it is one of the least uncomfortable I have worn even after hours of use.
Another comfort factor I really liked was Lucid sound LS1P's ear outline design. This means that the atrium does not support on your ear, but actually around. This makes a lot less pain on your ear lobes — that anyone who has used a lot of in-ear headphones do not know it too well. In addition, the lightness of the caps and the mild leatherette cushions only make the sweetest pressure impacts. Put all this together, and the physical experience of using this helmet for long periods is much more enjoyable than many than I used.
The sound and volume control is done with the same simple method as LucidSound uses for its other helmets. A large dial on the headset turns, allowing you to easily adjust the volume. It is not necessary to look for a small button, nor to press the wrong, which can make the difference between life (virtual) and death in a game. You also simply press the button for Cut the microphone. The Lucid sound product range benefits from one of the best helmet control designs in the sector and Lucid sound LS1P is no exception.
Some things I really do not like. The microphone of the pole, for example, is not detachable. If you break it, it disappeared, and you can not remove it for travel or storage. The helmet is also connected to a cord — which is theoretically because the wireless is a little overvalued in a headset anyway — but what I do not like is that the cord is integrated. This means that you can not change it with a longer or better, and it's a big disadvantage for me. I imagine that I could also use it or break it possibly, and again there is no possibility to replace it.
In the final analysis, you must also take into account the low price of Lucid sound LS1P. Currently, it's a very affordable price of $16.99 on Amazon. This makes it much cheaper than a complete game helmet. You could say that you get half the atria, but as I said above, it could be an advantage depending on what you are looking for. With a solid sound and easy and comfortable experience, the LucidSound LS1P premium listening helmet is not quite a premium experience, but it's a nice little alternative to traditional game helmets.
