PS Store - New Offers: Big Hits for PS4 & PS5 in Summer Sale

Two weeks ago, the PlayStation Store started its great Summer Sale with more than 1,200 offers for PS4 and PS5, which runs until the 18th of August. We had already introduced you to the highlights. At halftime, there is now many new deals, under which some large AAA titles are located, while some of the old offers have expired. The right game for: all who want to experience a thrilling action game on the highest level of production.

Not so good for: All who did not force it when loved characters were trapping bad things.

The PlayStation exclusive blockbuster The Last of US Part II is already in the second part of the Summer Sales for 29.99 euros.

Ruthless blockbuster: The Last of US 2 is one of the big AAA games of the PS4 generation. There is hardly any other title to the production quality. This applies to the detail of the graphics with their impressive light, dust and weather effects as well as for the lifelike animations and the excellent sound design. Even the rousing and relapseless story is worthy such a blockbus, although many fans would certainly have liked another future for the beloved characters from Part 1.

Open Levels: Playful has not changed too much compared to its predecessor: we shoot, sneak and explore the dystopic, end-time game world. We enjoy significantly more freedom of movement in the LAST OF US 2 as in the first part, instead of strict linear levels, there are often extensive, free-walk-in territories. The latter to explore is already worthwhile because The Last of US 2 again offers some survival elements and we are always looking for the right crafting material.

Conclusion: The Last of US 2 should therefore be given a chance because the action game demonstrates impressively, for which the PS4 is technically able. Production quality and staging meet the highest demands that can be made to a video game today. The story certainly does not make all the fans of the predecessor happy, but ultimately the last of us 2 is still one of the gripping experiences that the PS4 has to offer.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla

The right game for: all who want to go with viking on robberies.

Not so good for: All who expect a good story or great quests.

Ubisoft's Open World Game Assassin's Creed Valhalla gets her for PS4 and PS5 now in the Summer Sale for 39.89 euros instead of 69.99 euros.

A new Viking Empire: In Assassin's Creed Valhalla, we slip into the role of a Wikingerkrieger or either a novel. The campaign starts in our Norwegian home. After a few class hours, however, we make ourselves on Britain to build a new kingdom there. We are doing partly forcibly, partly but also in which we do orders for the rulers of different regions and draw them so on our side. Each region tells her own little stories, which are partly better than the Lahme main story.

Proven gameplay with a few new ideas: Valhalla remains essentially on the path in the direction of action role-playing, which already supported Assassin's Creed Origins. Compared to the very combat predecessor Odyssey, sneaking but at least a bit more useful. There are also a few new ideas like the predators. These are mass bays in which we can use resources. We can then put these in the construction of our villages.

Conclusion: Assassin's Creed Valhalla could not convince us to the release. At the same time, bugs and Ki dropouts were guilty, which were now at least partially fixed. On the other hand, we were not exactly done by the story, the dialogues and the quest design. Other critics: Inside, however, the great Viking Atmosphere and the new ideas like the predators and the construction of the villages praised. Valhalla is so a matter of taste. If you want to make a picture yourself, you at least do not get such a big risk for the current price.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade (PS5)

The right game for: all who want to experience a classic in a contemporary version.

Not so good for: all who want the complete original story.

Summer Sale score: 84 points (PS4 version)

With Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade you get the improved and advanced PS5 version of the role-playing new edition now for 56.79 euros instead of 79.99 euros on offer.

Strongly modernized remake: The remake of Final Fantasy 7 awakens the classic, which is considered one of the best JRPGs of all time, again. Square Enix has made the roleplay technically up to date and missed an elaborate staging. Also control and gameplay were adapted to today's habits, the combat system was retired. However, not the entire history of the original is included, but only the first section in Midgar, which has been considerably expanded.

For PS5 improved: Although the PS4 version graphically impresses, the PS5 version was technically significantly improved. There are prowere light effects, improved textures and some new details. In addition, you can choose between the power mode with 60 fps and the graphics mode with 4K resolution and 30 fps. However, you can also get a free upgrade if you already have the PS4 version (unless you have the PS plus version). The extension contained in the intergrade version around Yuffie does not get her with the free upgrade but not.

Conclusion: The remake of Final Fantasy 7 is an excellent example of how to modernize a classic both technically and playfully meanwhile and transfer to today's time. This applies to the further improved PS5 version even more than for the already excellent PS4 version. But for the time being we only served a small part of the original story, but is still annoying. About the additional content and the new extension of the PS5 version can not exceed.

Mortal Kombat 11

The right game for: all who want a Fighting Game with many solo content and brutal finishing moves.

Not so good for: all who expect great innovations away from micropransaktions.

The bloody Fighting Game Mortal Kombat 11 is now 60 percent cheaper. It costs 19.99 euros instead of 49.99 euros.

Much in it: Mortal Kombat 11 is designed primarily on the multiplayer, but also has a lot to offer in the single player: the story campaign is not very long with about 5 hours, but it is outstandingly staged. The crypt known from the predecessors was developed into a kind of adventure mode and in the towers of the time we fight against opponents and bosses around rewards. In addition, there are now extensive individualization options for our fighters, with which, however, micro-transactions were introduced at the same time.

As always, only brutal: Playful Mortal Kombat has not changed too much with the eleventh part, as long as it sees that the fatalities have even become more brutal. As a rule, they are now reduces that the rather funny act as cruel. Also new are the fatal blows that can be used as soon as health has fallen under a certain value. This allows spectacular comebacks. The somewhat slower pace makes Mortal Kombat 11 also beginner-friendly.

Conclusion: Many playful innovations do not exist, but this does not matter: Mortal Kombat 11 is a great fighting game like its predecessor. Since the scope is right, you can pronounce a clear buy recommendation. The solo content alone justifies the sale price of 19.99 euros. It is a pity that the diverse new individualization options with microtransaktions is damaged, but ultimately does not cloud the fun.
